I cringe whenever I hear that the current MEC is engaging management over a contract dispute. They’ve proven their consistent ability to come up with solutions that are worse than the problems.

As much as I believe that ALPA needs to address this and other violations ASAP, I would rather see it happen after the next round of MEC elections.

The most recent time I used it there was nothing on my schedule. The time before that I was assigned a short call.

2nd sick call since the new contract and both have failed. As I understand it this is a pretty blatant contract violation. Anyone have any updates on when it’ll be fixed or consequences for the company for non-compliance?

I’m definitely getting a “the PWA is more like guidelines than actual rules” vibe

Had to do this recently.

Worked for me (call in sick, call in well)

If it didn’t, couldn’t care less about an actual phone call though. I’m sick. Netflix sucks. What else am I going to do?

Your experience may differ.

Are you on RES? It usually works for REG, but RES 100% doesn't work.

Every time they screw up a pilot’s pay, I think they should have to provide a note from an actual accountant explaining the error.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t have young kids running around tearing stuff up . The last thing I need is to be herding cats, fighting a fever, and listening to “all of our schedulers are currently assigning other callers”.

But perhaps a better answer is because it’s in the PWA. I know they took “keep your deals” out of the rules of the road, but c’mon man it’s not supposed to be optional. Unfortunately the company often treats it like it is, and under DH’s watch, with increasing impunity. It’s a bit concerning.

I used micrew to call in sick and well. I thought it was easy. Then I looked at my timecard to see sick call closed out with no credit. Called scheduling to fix. They said the would. Then trip disappeared completely from my schedule so I had to call a second time. This time they said they couldn’t fix it so opened a crew assist case for me. After a week of case still being opened, I went into chief pilot’s office and he emailed scheduling supervisor. Later that day it was fixed. Chief pilot strongly recommended not using it because he said it’s been nothing but problems.

Company: don't use your contractually required method.

That checks out

Make the CPO work every time it doesn’t work. It’s a PWA item. Don’t let them tell you to ignore the PWA to make their job easier.
