They can’t break up trips until they run at least one step of the coverage ladder. So if they don’t start that until 1400 then they can’t break them up until then.

Where is this posted? I knew about the 737 test but haven't seen anything about it being expanded. Also, I thought the test was to start coverage around 2000 on the second day.

I'm curious how this change interplays with SC coverage. Right now in the morning, second day trips are assigned, then by noon the next day SC are given out. If a person has a rotation assigned second day they basically become unavailable for SC the next day. If they move coverage to 1400, then all next day SC will already be assigned. That would seem to reduce the number of pilots they'd have available for second day trip assignments since every SC pilot will need 18 hours between assignments. The 6 hour SC window will help that a bit, but then they are also hurting themselves becuase a person with SC next day and a rotation second day is basically useless for their SC period, or if they are used they are going to have to drop the second day rotation most likely.

Once you have a trip assigned you are unavailable 24 hours prior.

I just posted about this on the reserve thread, but I used to make great use of this to my advantage (if the goal is not flying) back when SC was assigned two days out...

Maybe it was Spanos leaving and they decided it's not a big deal after all.

Got sick this week and tried to call out via MiCrew. Tried via both my phone and company iPad and got a “your request cannot be processed please contact crew scheduling.”

2nd sick call since the new contract and both have failed. As I understand it this is a pretty blatant contract violation. Anyone have any updates on when it’ll be fixed or consequences for the company for non-compliance?

I’m definitely getting a “the PWA is more like guidelines than actual rules” vibe
