I’ll blame BS if he does not reign JH in. This I honestly didn’t expect from him, especially since the reason he’s in that job is because the last guy got fired in part due to toxicity.
But if it goes unchecked, yeah, new same as the old.

First hand knowledge or is this a herd from a van driver thing? I only ask because that is so outrageous it’s hard to believe.

So I know we talked about this before, but how can we tell when a jumpseat was booked? And the LCP/LVP cadre only get the early booking going to training/instructing and not commuting home right? Just making sure before I kick a hornets nest.

Email from C66:
”Over the summer we have seen an uptick in the Chief Pilot Office (CPO) reaching out to pilots regarding their commute plan if their operating flight is delayed, regardless of whether the delay is coded to the pilot. Pilots are being asked to share their commute plan on the date of the delay. Several pilots have been advised that they were being placed in a "commute tracker".”

On the FB group there are multiple first-hand reports from pilots who were told by a CP that they are now in the “tracker”. Most appeared to have followed the FOM and/or PWA policy, but experienced a flight delay for reasons beyond their control.

This is the Delta Difference.

Run an on time airline and this isn't an issue. On the flip side, I've flown with some young pilots whose commute plans were pretty sketchy. My guess is that the problem with this issue lies somewhere in the middle. Harrassment for sure, and I don't believe in the "everyone in diapers when one person craps their pants, style of leadership, but I'm guessing they've just run across an increasing trend of poor planners.

The issue that I have with that is that the CPO is defining responsible commuters as “poor planners”, all while diverting attention from the hot mess that is our poorly run NYC operation.

Keep in mind that we have the most onerous commuting policies in the industry. If one or both are being followed, then the commuter is likely doing a reasonable job with their planning.

In violent agreement with you on this one. But I'm also open to the fact that there may need to be some self policing on this as well.

One person got put on the watchlist because his backup flight diverted and he caused the flight to be late by 17 minutes.

ATC is a hot mess. Even with reduction of slots the NE and FL is struggling at anything other than a perfect day. Coming in to airport X not long ago, a little bit if weather (900 OVC vis at 1.5 miles and light rain) they were struggling mixing in the heavies with regional/NB. During the extended vectoring, to include thru final twice, we heard no less than 2 aircraft get approach clearance cancelled due to separation and sent around to join the train on final again. One crew declared emergency fuel.

As long as they are following the PWA or FOM how can the commute be "sketchy".

Lots of our commuters rely on regional lift to get to base. When SHTF the regional flights are the first they cancel. A commuter has really no visibility on that until it happens. Should they commute up days prior?

I certainly hope the union via C66 is going to respond to this passive aggressive memo published in NY by the CPO there.
