knowledge is power. It’s like slave owners not letting their slaves learn how to read or write to keep them ignorant.

maybe so. Another list that would be nice to see is the crew tracking list of reroutes that are brewing. With vas and the new reroute incentives that the company has it would be nice to see what’s brewing beyond simply ‘open time’ trips.

Whats the standard acceptable report for a GS? Is it 2 hours “ish” like shortcall?

basically if a GS reports in an hour, is it ok to grab it if youre 2 hours out and theres going to be a delay? Or is it that they only want people who can make the report time acknowledge

they have to allow you SC call out time for a GS, so yes grab it. If they say no and move on, then you should still get paid since you’re able to make the SC call out time for it

Point of order, this is not true for Reserve pilots, since there is no "reserve rotation guarantee". Ask me how I know.

Never, ever answer the phone from CS when they call asking what time you will be there "so we can update the arrival time". As noted, 23.Q.11.b affords you SC response time. Rest quietly on that, not your problem.

yeah, I’ve been burned twice before with the same issue. “I’ll get there when I get there”

Fangs, did CS remove a GS from your line in this situation? I live inside 2 hours but have always answered and given them my best guess (which is about 2 hours) and felt like I was just being a good team player.

Yep. Learned my lessson. Less than an hour wasn't fast enough for them, and they rerouted someone else instead (this was in C15, but it hasn't changed with C19 afaik). Contractually, you don't owe them anything, so long as you can get there within the SC time frame.

This is a Reserve bidder problem, since lineholders are pay protected. It's long past time to "establish reserve rotation guarantee", IMO. Once anytying is placed on your schedule as a reserve, everything should be treated just like a lineholder. There are way too many carveouts for the company in the contract, and this is one of them.

this has not been my experience. I have told them 2 hours numerous times and been paid for a GS removed from my schedule as a reservist. Had one in the last 60 days. It’s coded as 4F1X. You’ll have to do a crew assist case. I’ve had 4 that I can remember and have been paid for every one of them.
