Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2

They said the same thing in DTW last year, though I haven't rode a bus in a bit, I have yet to see anyone wear a belt. Not necessarily a good idea should there be a wreck, but it's what I was seeing.
Ever since the bus started smelling like everyone was hotboxing, I started parking in long term parking at DTW. Easily cuts 15 minutes off my commute each way and I don't "get" to listen to the airport fast food worker on the phone, YELLING at her man about how "she's gonna F him up if he don't shut his mouth!" As an added bonus, I don't get nearly side-swiped by the idiots tearing out of the lot like they're running a qualifying round for the Indy 500.

The benefits are nice (especially for a daytrip/2-day), but how much?
ATL has a percentage of people who pay to park, too. Sad that the transportation is so inconvenient that it's even justifiable.

$26/day. It all started when I'd park there if I expected a snow storm and didn't want to have to dig my car out after a trip. The convenience was just too nice for me and well worth the relative pennies it cost. If we could ever get our SIDA badges back and go straight to ops like we used to do, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Taken them away from pilots made zero sense and losing our SIDA badges was a big hit.

please post your findings…I’m curious. My guess is since reserve trips are already covered you’re off the callout…but I have no reference. It makes sense though, at some point the reserve coverage has to be solid…or every GS would undo coverage.
keep in mind, and you might know this, there is often little advantage to GS’g on a reserve day. Some niche situations can apply - but most pilots learn the hard way it’s not lucrative…especially if day 1 is a low BL day. Lastly, scheduling will likely not pay you correctly…so watch your timecard.

I was correct and I should have been awarded the GS. After a 5 minute hold with the scheduler they admitted they made a mistake- I should have been removed from the reserve trip today. They gave me single pay for the missed GS - code 4F1C on Timecard. Always learning something new-hope this helps someone in the future.

Best part of commuting was NEVER having to ride those grimy busses again.
If the layover transportation is full I always ask my crew if they have access to a seatbelt. 3 times I’ve pulled the crew out of a van when they didn’t. Trust me, if you get in a wreck in the van you want to have a seatbelt on.

What about getting your cranium smashed by the 6 x luggage works bags that are unsecured / not in separate compartment?

My 4F1C was pay & credit….scheduling fixed it.

mine shows pay and credit. Can you tell me why this would matter? Only scenario I can think of when it would matter is if you weren’t FULL for the month. Thanks.

Credit goes towards your WS pickup limit, so if you are trying to max out for the month it will count against you. Pay/no credit is basically free money (which is what a missed GS 4F1C is supposed to be). On the other hand, since you can bank credit time, keeping it as both pay and credit could be to your benefit if it puts your credit up over 80 and you want to bank some hours that otherwise wouldn't normally be bankable.
