Ah yes, the business traveler who lives in ATL is going to book their next trip on AA (where pilots don’t say goodbye at all), all because they detected insincerity in my goodbye.
The “Delta Difference” is a delusion at this point. Particularly with regard to management’s treatment of employees.

There are a lot of ways pilots can affect costs and performance metrics. This seems very short sighted considering reduced APU usage was suposed to save the company millions. 17000 pilots taking personal retribution will not bode well for the "family." I 've had the supprise $2000 short paycheck in the past due to "accounting errors." The union got $800 back albeit 5 months later when it was investigated further. The accounting errors have errors. If this gets out of hand it will be just like sect. 6 only 24/7 with quiet quitting. Just the thought of PBs being messed with after the emphatic don't mess with PBs during negotiations makes me think the gloves are off and we are in for a full court press on precedent resets prior to the next negotiation. Management wins if you have to negotiated the same item more than once.

Both are still hiring and bonus, you'll never have to wear a hat again.
Why do we pay so much dues for a union if we don't bring our concerns to them and expect them to address them before bringing out pitchforks.
Judging by ancman's and other's attitude, I'd prefer him not saying goodbye to our pax. Insincerity is worse than just apathy.

If you guys really work at this you can be just like UAL and AA. I think in two or three years you can drive the yields down below both of them. That will teach management a lesson! Get the other employees onboard with always due the minimum and you might even get Delta back into Chapter 11! Huge win!
To the other stuff, no, we've got 3 maybe 4 big airlines left in this country. they are really too big to fail. So those other threats you made about it are OBE. This isn't the 90's. anymore. Customers won't leave for the lack of galley PA's.

I flew for Delta when virtually no employee would do any thing beyond their basic job other than say " So be it". You would be on here screaming if the airline ran that way today. I am a Platinum Pro at American. Get all the perks that brings. They don't touch Delta overall. The proof is in the yields. During the "So be it" era we were like 86% of the average and almost went out of business. Missed being bought by USair for peanuts by one vote!
On my last Delta flight, the FAs had “Crew Use Only” headrest covers placed across the last row of an A320 (on a 2.5 hour flight). The gate agent assigned me a seat in that row. Keep in mind, these were not designated crew safety seats.
Halfway through the flight, after suspending service for light chop, an FA came back and somewhat rudely asked me to move my water bottle off the adjacent seat’s tray, which she then occupied. She explained that “These are actually crew seats” (while pointing to the headrest covers). I was in plain clothes and got the impression that she had no idea I was an employee. She then proceeded to scroll through movies on the IFE while sipping her drink.
We’re already closer to a “so be it” airline than you suggest. Fortunately, the consequences aren’t as severe in the post-consolidation environment. I don’t see much worse from AA or UA, and occasionally I see better service there. It’s all very crew dependent. Personally, I believe in treating the passengers with professionalism and kindness when approached. But I do NONE of the extraneous nonsense that we’re asked by the company to do.

Some of y'all sound like a bunch of middle schoolers that I interacted with when I used to sub teach during furlough for a bit.
CB, HK, Ancman don't wanna make PAs, wear hats, be nice to customers while working so be it. You do you in your little pity party.
IF my union says to stop wearing hats or any other action due to confirmed impass with mgmt I'll join along, otherwise take your berating of fellow employees and stuff it.

I never said I wasn't nice to customers. Nor did anyone else. I stated I do not push wheel chairs or toss bags or run outside looking for strollers etc. That's not in my wheel house or my contract. I don't fill out those silly little cards and hand them out either. The few times I did, I got some really curious looks and comments from the D1 crowd. I'm simply reacting and repsonding to what I get from our HV customers behavior. Nothing more.
Further, what our customers really care about is being on time and not having their bags lost. They also like to be kept informed about delays we are experiencing whether those be on us, ATC or waiting for a gate. From what I've observed over the years our crews do a great job at this. It goes a long way to our customers satisfaction. Way more so than a galley PA or other such fluff.
The hat at this point is an ridiculous accoutrement. Far past it's time and needs to go or at least become optional. Same with the tie on the short sleeve shirt sans horse blanket. OBTW, still waiting for that "commuter" friendly hat.
Edit to add: Beards. Yes, I support our pilots being able to sport well groomed (no ZZ top type stuff) facial hair. It's the 21st century, time to stop living in the 30's.
