I'm with you Scoop. Along those lines, always amazed that Delta doesn't provide ozone concentrations on WidgetWeather which is readily available on The Weather Company products used by our competitors. We're all about safety at Delta until there is a cost involved. 😁

100%. Delta only posts ozone TPs above a certain altitude (I think 370) and rarely does it. I hear other airlines avoiding certain altitudes all the time..but Delta just does not care.

Nonsense. If that were true, they’d be willing to seat revenue pax in the turbulence safety seats…. 😐

I agree 100% about the radiation and have yet to figure out why the 330 Pilots always want to climb as high as possible. A smooth ride in the mid 30s is my sweet spot - upper 30s and 40k - not so much. I guess its one factor in favor of going back to the left seat.

Scoop
Its a weird addiction with 330 pilots desperately wanting to climb. I carried a letter from Airbus that talked about fuel burn on the A330-300. 500 feet above optimum burned more fuel than 2000 feet below optimum. Still I would constantly come off break to find us 2000 above optimum. The 330 pilot climb addiction is worse than crack cocaine!

What’s it like flying something that readily has FL370 available? The CRJ200, 737-900, 767-400 don’t like it up there.

Going from constantly flying everywhere at FL450 for a corporate job to being stuck in the high 20s on the 717...I greatly miss that capability.

Hah! Even if they did, you wouldn't know if you were flying through an ozone concentrated area because Delta doesn't care. 😁

Used to go directly to FL 450 in GIV even at max gross weights. Always get direct for 8hr leg and rarely have weather to avoid.

My ICrew skills are failing me. Where do you find that tool that tells you if a rotation is legal for your schedule?
