Everything is by bid period.

Was just looking at this for other reasons. “Sick year” is an exception. PWA 14.A.15: sick leave year is 1 Jun to May 31.

That's the way I read it too, but figured there’s probably a gotcha hidden somewhere else.

I deviated on a deadhead and fortunately I was able to get a better comfort seat because I spoke with the agent. Apparently they weren’t going to upgrade me even though it was selected in the profile. I find it frustrating but oh well.

During the flight on the 321 the last rows were blocked for “safety”. Apparently safety is two FA’s sleeping in that row. I really wish they would get rid of this farce of safety.
I’ve seen this non revving with the fam a few times recently. Once FAs actually complained to us about sitting in the last row, opposite the “safety” seats. They wanted 6 seats to themselves for sleep. Two FAs sat in that other row from wheels up to wheels down. Smooth flight. SMH.

Yeah, 320s can be the same, but it's less common to have an uncomfortable cabin temperature because auto temperature control is a thing.
Having been in FC on the NEOs a few times recently, I’m not sure I agree. Those FC seats are like sitting on metal folding chairs/737 jumpseat. My ass was numb after 2.5 hours. On one of the DHDs, all the FC pax were letting me know when we landed that those seats are the worst; I heard someone say a Spirit seat is more comfortable.

Correct. There are a couple of other items out there that are by hard calendar months and not bid months. For example, vacation moveups always close on the 1st of each calendar month at 0800, not the first (or last) day of the bid period. Why are things this way? Because...uh...Delta something something. It is not worth memorizing all of these things, just make sure you reference the actual contractual language for whatever issue it is you are dealing with.

I will say, while not all encompassing, the text reminders from the Union are super helpful.

Absolutely. For anyone not aware, the union will send you out text messages ahead of the various monthly bid events, when they open, when they are about to close, etc. This is a great resource from your union.
