Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2

There is/was a sub-group of people who continually parrot that stuff. One functionary was screaming that we had to pass TA1 because the Greek financial crisis was going to melt the whole world down.

Thanks. Sounds like apathy abounds. There is a rep in ATL that has only been to 1 or 2 meetings in almost a year. Rumor is a rep is afraid that the former scheduling chairman might replace him if he resigns. It's just easier to have him give his proxy to one of the other reps so he can fly as much as he wants before he retires.

I think the power of MEC Chair is wildly overstated. He could do far more to push the envelope as a C44 Rep given the voting history of this council. In the end a MEC Chair just reflects the interests of the controlling majority of the MEC.

While there is some truth to this, I'm not sure I fully agree. The MEC Chair can certainly do a lot of damage. He(she?) runs the admin, puts in place alllll the committee chairs where the real day-to-day work happens. There is a lot of opportunity to fumble the ball. There is a reason John Malone was brought in for TA2. There is a reason "Moak" is a 4-letter word amongst us peasants.
