So Delta can lobby to remove that benefit and then bid back to the ATL. (where everyone should be anyway) The peach tree city council has room for all real Delta pilots.

It’s a generational shift. I think it’s good because it promotes work/life/health balance without the military mission mindset. Others will surely see it as a lazy and weak.

I’m late to the response (too much time off and not enough allocated to APC) This is truth that reads like a joke and exactly what I was thinking.

DAL Council 81 had a good April 09, 2024 update referening ALPA's Economic and Financial briefings given to the MEC in DTW.

I'd recommend checking out the briefing slides.

TLDR; Best guess is economy is softening. Delta hiring fewer pilots this year than originally announced.

Check out the C81 Chairman message. He puts his vice chair on blast and not so subtly invites people to come to their LEC meeting for recall.

Edit: I was responding to someone but the message is now gone. I'll leave this since the whole thing is interesting

I went looking for it in aerodocs and on their page but am not seeing it. Where are you seeing it

Our Q1 is going to be very good and Q2 is looking better than Q1. Not sure where ALPA is getting there stuff. We've beat our EPS estimates. We knew about the hiring slow down, but still 1000+ in a year is pretty significant number, albeit not close to the hiring boom we just went thru since 2014. The numbers are still very respectable. However, as I am, always cautiously optimistic that the bottom won't fall out. This business is a roller coaster, but far from what it was post de-reg and post 9-11.

Poor timing for that newsletter. Almost a chicken little vibe. What is is goal? Setting up for concessions?

Corporate travel is returning. That's what feeds the beast.
