Yep. Totally agree.

Not sure what the definition of "sick leave abuser" is. Could you help me since you seem pretty vested in the discussion?

Do you think there is any difference in "abuse" if one system is "use it or lose it" and another syatem is sick leave accrual which can be cashed out at a later date?

Does it constitute "sick leave abuse" when under a sick accrual system and you DO NOT call in sick when you have the "sniffels" because you want to build your sick leave bank?

Is it more abusive to call in sick when not personally sick (but you need that day off for.... reasons) under one system vice the other, or is it the same level of abuse?

Last time I checked, Delta specifically does not accept virtual doctor appointments. And in the case of a COVID test, Delta wants them to be proctored, so at home test over your phone wouldn't count. Then you have the added complication of getting the sick verification note to the doctor to fill out and send back to you.

They accepted mine. When did you check last and where does it say that? At the time last fall, the company actually provided a link for a company that provided online porctored covid tests. Covid test aside, how do they know you did a tele-visit, the note the Dr provides is the same. Tests can be proctored online.

You are getting two months of vacation???? I knew it - I am getting screwed!

Just expired on TO and landing currency. Submitted the form 21 days out, so should be fine, but this is definitely a first for me. Not a peep from the company. Before I expired, I was getting GS calls that I was going to be expired for. I declined them because I assume that is a big no-no, but I am curious if now that I am expired, am I going to keep getting called for GS/regular reserve assignments, or is the system smart enough to not try to use me until training notices and sends me to the sim (not the slightest clue how long that will be).

It had to be pre-1996 concessionary PWA. I was told this in 2008 by a captain I flew with. Maybe someone with 30+ years can verify. Were you around in the early 90s? I'm fine with being corrected if this is wrong.

I just had a very similar experience. Didn't hear a word from the company until they put me on short call and I called and told them no can do. The scheduler said "oh yeah, I see that now". Three days later, I had a RECY sim put on my schedule for the next week. So I'd say the system is definitely not smart enough to not try to use you. But once you self announce, they probably call the training planners. All told, I was expired. For about a week and a half.

It went away either with the 96 or 01 contract. You also got the 48 prior to your primary vacation off with pay. Effectively a loss of 5 paid days off.
