More "good deal" shout downs for other good deals is kinda like moving money from one pocket to the other such as PS forfeit for a "raise."
I didn't use my label at all in that response, and I never said that your method doesn't work for you either. I said that you're not recovering sick credit, you're just working more and deferring the pay. That's not right or wrong, it just is what it is.

Most pilots here get more than 200 hours of sick time a year, and most probably only use a fraction of it. We should have more ability to use our contractual benefit without having to lie to get it.

Those that have been here awhile get 3 months worth of sick leave per year to go along with 2 months of vacation. You really think we should be allowed to take 5 months per year off? Just curious.

It would theoretically be subject to coverage, in which case, yeah, why not?

It also doesn't have to be the entire sick bank. Make it 150 of only sick time and 70 hours of PTO or sick. Something like that.

it’s kind of interesting to think about. 330 captain with 3 years left or so and 270 hours of sick. Thats essentially more than one trip a month. Call up your doctor and have the note ready to go every month. What recourse would the CPO/company have to prevent this? What would said captain really have to lose? All parties would know what’s going on. I’m sure it happens all the time. Curious how the back and forth goes with said captain and the CPO.

how dare you insinuate that a pilot would be so dishonest. Pilot advocate card revoked

Put it in the bank as an FO, withdraw as a CA. Somewhere around 100% interest. I’ll take that (and did) any day!

nice sarcasm.

This is the differene between a pilot union and a no-**** trade union. Do you think UAW members are out accusing each other of lying about sick time?

But to some pilots, they're "special" blue collar labor, in their own minds. A certain percentage thinks that due to their education level, they are somehow part managment and need to think like managment.

It's absolutely mind-boggling to me that we have pilots here going out of their way to let managment off the hook, and point the finger at other pilots.

Then why did the company agree to it?

Because the vast majority of our pilots are honest.

We definitely do need to rein in this GFB stuff in the next contract. I don't know of any other major airline that does this especially with this kind of frequency. I was sick the other day and honestly hesitated to call in sick because I was thinking about how annoying going to the doctor would be if I did get a GFB. I still ended up calling out, but the fact it was even in my head means that their intimidation tactics are working.
