you have many ways of requesting those days off. From vacation to PBS to PCS to “may issue” APDs/IVDs. In no way are you forbidden from requesting the days off.

much like other employees, though, some staffing is required even over holidays so not every request is granted

you do for those we’ve negotiated. We get many benefits other employees do not get.

You have no idea about a lot of things. So you are saying it's incorrect that pilots don't like having thier earned pay held indefinately and denied. We can play the straw man game all day.

Absolutely. Management even takes it a step further. (see my signature)

Know your "good deals" and "loopholes."

This however is a philosophical response to sailings defense of management's double standards. We have what we have and I think it should be more, especially when that is good for every other company employee. We don't currently but it's on my list of improvements.

I agree with notenuf. Any day that it is more difficult to get off than any other day should be paid premium. Period. Why did you e go half way on this contract? Answer because that’s what we negotiated. We should negotiate better.

Most pilots don't want to work on Fri, Sat, Sun They want to work Mon-Thurs. Thus Fri-Sun is harder to get off.

So shouid ALL Fri, Sat, Sun be paid premium?

What is going on today?
Is Mercury in retrograde?
I know pilots whine, but today is next level.
The airline runs 24/7/365.
Everyone knew this when they were hired here.
If you can’t handle working an occasional holiday… for a big fat paycheck and really cushy lifestyle, this job isn’t for you.
You guys are going to medical out with a stroke if we ever have another black swan.
Now we’re going to blame Alpa too?
