Play it smart, enjoy yourself and don't over do it. Easy peezy.
I witnessed a gate agent lean in to kiss the captain when she brought the paperwork down to the jet. I was surprised in her romantic choice until I realized she was just getting closer for an air sample. It must be part of their bonus structure.

In other news, top 10 long haul airlines:

3000NM cutoff.
The most interesting was number of ops vs % of operations. No surprise, United is #1, but it only represents 6% of their schedule.

That wasn't what's her name was it? The one ops agent who is super friendly with a bunch of folks who've been flying there forever.

A huge tip is don’t bring your own booze. Buy the expensive beers at the bar. Our own cheapness can protect us. 😉

the main reason my young wife was ok with me joining the boys at the strip club for a couple of bachelor parties years ago. Cheapness can have its moderating effect.

Default Banked PB Day useage

I have been using TOFF and then picking the trip back up as a WS when below the PU limit, and picking up via MICREW friends when over the limit. I have also heard of people "parking" trips on other Pilots lines and then taking the trips back. I thought that there was some sort of "mechanism" to prevent this, somethat about running the trip through open time.

Is trip parking still a valid method for cashing in PB days or am I confusing this with a simple method for people to fly above the PU limit for straight pay(Barf)?

Thanks Scoop

At some point in the process the trip has to go through PCS or you will be blocked. You cannot simply swap back and forth with the other pilot. The best way is for you to have the PB day drop in, and have the other pilot put in a blind WS for that rotation. Then that pilot will get the rotation (assuming no one senior has a slip in that hits) no matter the coverage, because the trip will drop from your line with good coverage or it'll be a Q trip on the second loop of the PCS process. Then since he got the rotation via PCS you can just do a direct friend-to-friend swap to get it back.

A PB is essentially a PD. When it drops, it goes into open time. I have had good luck with having someone WS the trip and then getting it back via their PB or swap with friends. I even lost control of a trip and texted the person who got it on a blanket WS. We worked out some mutual PB coordination and they kept the trip in the end. The biggest hurdle is cold calling someone who isn’t familiar but they usually are all about it because they see the value of working together and learning the system for the future. As for parking, it’s not the same as the old parking to free up for GS or WS. It’s really about knowing where the trip will end up and having a plan with the person who gets it. The way you are doing it works great if you are senior and know you will get the trip back. (theoretically in the same run) You will need a partner if you get over the PU limit.

As others have already said trips need to take a run through PCS before taking it back via the swap board.

A related technique for burning PB solo is to swap 1 trip for 2, then PB drop one trip and swap 1 for 2 again. I actually did this in a 1:3 ratio by dropping day 1 of two separate trips then swapping 1 for 3 on a couple PCS runs. Double digit PB days is a a first world problem, us WBs gotta look out for each other.
