I'm tempted as well. As a commuter my qol was actually improved on reserve a couple months ago compared to my commutable line now. I'm a bit risk averse when it comes to my schedule though and I don't want to be over exposed to a ton of SC or uncommutable trips.

On reserve: have jury duty tomorrow. Do I just call and say i have jury duty? The PWA doesn’t have an actual jury duty section. 12.8.d just talks about moving x days around.
any sea lawyers?

is it my imagination or when I first got here (2016) the company would offer KOLA's on a month-by-month basis?

Did you inform the company of the duty when you first got the summons weeks or months ago? If you did not then you are up a creek. They'll drop the days but they will be unpaid, and you're probably going to have to have a little chat with the CPO. If you did properly inform pilot leaves when you got the summons then I guess yeah, just call scheduling and tell them. PWA 13.E.1

You submit your summons through pilot leaves. If your duty is tomorrow, expect to have an unpaid drop as you are responsible for submitting your summons immediately. You probably will also have to call crew scheduling and the on call chief pilot to coordinate a drop since it’s highly unlikely that pilot leaves is working now.

I think they did during most years during some winter months up until (maybe including) 2019

I remember seeing those too.

Along with SIL's. "What's a SIL?!?"

Section 13.E. Look up Legal duty leave. Sounds like you waited too long to notify. Have to send it to them immediately to get paid for it.

I almost missed jury duty because I’m a commuter and they broke my trip up. Had me finish at 10pm at night the day prior. I barely made 10:30pm flight home to report at 7am for jury duty. I wasn’t happy.
