You may already know this, but not everyone realizes the ALV is the same across all bases for a given seat. One’s particular oddities in a specific base can just indicate unbalanced manning for the aircraft type and is sometimes a seasonal anomaly.

Damn... I definitely did not realize that. Thanks!

Speaking of anomalies, did anyone else notice every single category in the company save one got an extra X-Day in April?

We have over 18% more pilots on our list than we did in the summer of 2019 while our capacity is up nowhere near that much by comparison. And that number will continue to grow as we approach the summer. This next year is going to be a significant slowdown in many categories compared to the previous few years.

Yes. I wonder how much this has nothing to do with April 2024 in and of itself, and everything to do with the lookbacks.

I don't think that explains it. I don't think I've ever noticed every category get an extra x-day outside the depths of Covid, especially the A's, and most expecially the NB A"s. It's not common for NB A to get an extra X-day at all. "A" staffing is much more stable than "B".

I don't belive lookback has anything to do with getting an Extra X-Day, it's simply 20% reserve projection. I've seen some comments about the RLL being notably lower - the number of projected lines dropping would definitly have an effect on the reserve %.

I was just not expecting that in Spring Break month.

Man, just when I'm tempted to bid a line, they try to pull be back into reserve with 26% reserves.

As it should be. With any luck we will only run things a little lukewarm this summer.

Barring the odd category, lines are reduced almost entirelt Across the board. Block hours up.
