yes youve said so before and I stipulated it here. I disagree that this contract will lead to more green slips and I suspect that we’ve created an incentive to cover more flying at 1.5x rr pay rather than 2x gs pay. Once I find a proper feedback mechanism to confirm or contradict our claims I’ll post it on these pages. I hope you are correct and that I am wrong since I think gs benefit the entire pilot group.

Yes I understand rr used to pay zero extra if we had enough credit in the original rotation. Still, a rr is an inverse assignment and should pay as such.
It used to be a reroute for straight pay. Nothing more as long as they got you back on your trip or back to your base less than 4 hours after scheduled release. Now it is guaranteed to pay extra. How you see this as a loss is beyond me. And it only pays 1.5x for the flying in the duty period you got rerouted, if you stay rerouted beyond that duty period then you get 2X pay until returned to your trip. Oh and you can’t be kept on a reroute through your base.

If I’m RRd then someone has to cover the flying I was RRd off of. That probably either went to a GS or a SC.

I think our debate is over your word ‘probably’. ^

if im scheduled for a 2 hour sit then fly to MCO and instead RRd to operate to PHX, who is gonna fly that MCO flight? If they choose to keep RRing people they end up paying 10 pilots 1.5x (+2x the next day) vs 1 pilot 2X.

But it seems to me there will eventually be an uncovered leg (or several) that will be covered by
1) a last minute WS
2) a SC or
3) a GS

WTF is going on with PBS?? I use "if not" filter a lot to sort the bids. It's returned opposite. I also use work start and work stop as well. Returns opposite as does if not layovers in. The sorter is FUBAR.

Yep AND the 18 hour call out means that the flying you were supposed to do the subsequent day is more likely to go out as a SC or a GS vs when they only needed to give a long call reserve 12 hours.

I sent an ACE inquiry to the scheduling committee and received a response stating the company is aware of the situation and is working with Navblue to resolve it. Check's in the mail.

Granted, not every reroute will be like this extreme example, but here’s one data point. I had one recently that went from a 2-day paying 10:30 to a 2-day paying over 27. Yes, you read that right. Because of 23.L.4, and 23.L.9 (for Res, 23.L.8 for Reg) “stacked” the increased trip credit which also doubled, plus some Carve pay. Because I was on a GS, it was all above guarantee. My FO was on SC, and he got 14+ over guarantee.

To Meme’s point earlier, both the FO and I were happy about the reroute, as you might imagine. A 2-day GS that paid like a 5+.

I recognize this wasn’t your exact point, but someone else also got paid (don’t know if via RR or GS) for the legs we didn’t do on day 2. With the old contract that would have paid maybe 4 hours of RR pay.

Ya the new reroute rules are pretty nice, though if I bid a line, I'd generally rather stay on my assigned trip. But we thought we had some issues with guys calling and asking to be rerouted before, I can't imagine what those pilots are doing now

With all the extra people they're putting on SC, more seem to be going to SC. It's too bad we don't get the extra hour whether you get used or not.
