Just one possibility
It doesn't make sense to disqualify people because you can't train fast enough. You just slow the rate of interviews and spread out pool times.

No unless you were required to answer. If they make repeated attempts that can be considered breaking your rest.

one call is permissible I believe, but they run the risk of breaking your rest and you can call in fatigued as a result. It’s in the sched ref handbook somewhere.

edit: under FAR REST REQUIREMENTS try page 29.

Are the gouge posted on aviation interviews dot com accurate? Or should I look elsewhere? I have subscribed to EC

Unless something has changed you need to score above whatever threshold the hiring department has in order to secure the CJO. The panel takes copious notes and scores each of your answers, and at the end they tally up your score and it needs to be above a certain level.

I don’t believe that cutoff line is on a curve or a sliding scale. They do not weed out a certain percentage of people, they want to hire everyone who interviews. But you have to pass.

I actually wonder if canned polished answers have gotten more CJOs than authentic but not as polished stories?

Hard to tell. There has been a lot of hiring by all majors which:
1. Depletes the ranks of qualified applicants.
2. Encourages the less qualified to put in apps.

Training throughput is certainly an issue, on the other hand getting a qualified person today committed with a CJO may avoid having to hire a less qualified person later. It all depends on how bad the recession will be and how quickly the regionals fragment. Your guess is probably as good as anyone else’s guess.
