Yes, I've had success with this. Check the reserve coverage for that day before picking it off of the swap board, though.

Any trip with high credit on day 1 will work. You can use 1 PB day to drop a multi day trip. Reserve coverage matters unless you have someone who will pick it up as a Q trip on a WS. This can be repeated multiple times if you take the trip back via swap with friends or the P2P swap board.

You’d think I’d remember from last year, but how long does it usually take for vacay awards to show up after the bid window closes?

I think it was two days last year for the primary, and then next day for the rest.

I know I’ve seen this but can’t remember where or details- what recourse do we have if you book Jumpseat & it is subsequently taken by a LCA for line check?

We used to get PS if it was to work but the company removed that from the FOM during covid.

you get positive space on your backup flight if it’s to work per commuter policy.

Right, but if it weren't, you wouldn't have a backup to the jumpseat flight in question either (mechanical, crew duty, etc).

That said, I always thought that was a CBA thing not an FOM thing. We should have codified it many contracts ago, but "we didn't think they'd do that"...
