and please don’t insult me. I don’t insult you, so I’d appreciate the same treatment back.

Yes, I am.
You said the “definition”. These are from the Oxford dictionary.
Which one looks closer to “doing the same thing over and over expecting different results”?

Practice: perform (an activity) or exercise (a skill) repeatedly or regularly in order to improve or maintain one's proficiency.

Insanity: the state of being seriously
mentally ill; madness.

You can believe what you want. I was just informing you that your definition of insanity was just something catchy someone said. Not an actual definition. Your definition of insanity is actually closer to the definition of practice.

Or did PBS just give it to you in blue? From my seat I don't see us seniors bidding holidays for the pay. Most are still doing what we've been doing for a long time - prefer off over the holidays, then green slip. Juniors are still getting tagged with holiday flying either thru coverage (unstacking) or thru straight PBS award. Now, couple that with higher rates and Bob's your uncle, and it benefits everyone etc etc etc.
In several categories YOY (for Thanksgiving, Xmas and NYE) that has indeed been the case, coverage awards for RES and REG have gone more junior. In others it has had little to no effect. I did not look at how senior specifically bidding for those holidays went, but theoretically looking at coverage awards should capture that behavior. It does not surprise me that more senior categories would not exhibit a large change of behavior YOY given that human behavior favors inertia and it's only natural that folks doing the same thing for 20+ years would be slower to react to a contractual change. Disclaimer: I'm not trying to cast aspersions (new generation vs old) on anyone, just sharing what a cursory comparison of 2022 and 2023 wide reports showed.

I see you still won’t answer any questions about your plan, despite enjoying the debate

Good grief. OK. Does this make it better?

Thanks for the information. I don't really pay too much attention to what is happening in NB fleets, so I appreciate the insight.

I will say that we (senior people) make more money than holiday pay provides by continuing to exercise seniority by prefer over holiday X, then GS'ing over it. I never thought holiday pay would alter that behavior and it appears it has not.

Thanks again, appreciate the insight on the NB stuff.

Yeah, that would definitely be stupid to do. My point was just telling you that’s not the definition of insanity. It’s just a falsehood that spread like Mr. Rogers being in special forces and covering up his tattoos with a shirt and jacket or Toyota making cars with uncontrolled acceleration in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. None of it’s true, but it gets repeated.
(If anyone disagrees with any of the above statements, please just google it instead of replying)

My pleasure. Though for Christmas and NYE I was only looking at a few 330A and B categories, not just my own.
