Negotiating capital? The company should be PAYING US a hefty amount for the savings that they accrue into perpetuity from pay banding.

Web board/text make it hard to convey. But I'm not really complaining, just pointing out that it's not just HK and his fellow WB guys who are not really seeing much of a benefit this implementation as is being pushed above by a few posters. Also pointing out that the extra pay doesn't really = better QOL for everyone. I understand that not everything has to benefit everyone equally, but it certainly was a bit lopsided gains depending on where you sit. Oh well, such is life.

We can break the banding down even further, I'd have been happy with simply banding to the 220-100, which wouldn't have been any different then bringing the 320 and 737 in line. With that pay difference, a single 2-day for the year would be all it takes to pay me more than I've received from sit/edp pay.

Lol ya, banding the 717 and 220 would have been YUGE savings for the company!

I don’t know what’s funny about giving the company free money forever. They certainly don't reciprocate.

They're certainly not giving me "free money" by paying me the extra $13k I'd be making if we banded with the 220. Given that no 717s are in the same base as 220s, how many less training events do you invision in a world where the 717s are banded to the 220?

More like 5-15 minutes for me. No gold mine. Maybe covers Starbucks tab for the trip.

YMMV…

Default Soft Pay...

One of my mentees (junior line holder) was award line in Dec with 63hrs of credit, but almost 18 hours of soft pay between 2 x holidays and some EDP and SIT, so 81hrs of pay.

Not too shabby if you are forced to work long days over the holidays....

Our NC guys did a great job! Was it perfect - No. I would have liked to have seen a 6th week of vacation vs faster accrual. A 6th week would benefit everyone, faster accrual does jack squat for those already with 5 weeks. Yet despite this huge wart I still voted yes. I was thinking about voting "No" so I could pound my chest and berate the majority of Pilots I fly with but that sounded too tiring.

Scoop
Small point of order. 16 completed years as of 1 April gets you 5 weeks of vacation. It’s not unreasonable to expect that 6th weeks would come after 21+ years. Not everyone will exceed 21 years on property, and even more might, but for only a couple years before retirement. As a military retiree who at age 65 will have 22.69 years with the company, I’m personally glad we accelerated the accrual. But I get your point, am won’t complain one bit about a 6th week, even if it comes after year 22.

to my knowledge united is the only major pax carrier with a 6th week of vacation and they get theirs at 25 years of service.

UA’s vacation
years 1-4 2 weeks
years 5-10 3 weeks
years 11-24 5 weeks
years 25+ 6 weeks

I understand where scoop is coming from, but we had a long way to go in getting our vacation up. If we had left week 5 at year 19, week 6 probably would not have happened until close to year 30, which a lot of our list will never see.

Question since this came up.. I was awarded a 62:21 credit line for JAN (NYC 320A)

I'm usually a RES by choice guy but couldn't get January 6th off as RES and could as a line, so here I am. Opener of the Supercross season in Anaheim, it's pretty much "YOU MUST BE OFF FOR THIS" because it's a big deal for a lot of the team sponsors and often the first real "pro race" for some of the younger riders we work with. Kind of an all hands on deck to make things work.

Since I didn't bid RLL or ask for min credit, doI get 65 hours of credit even though awarded line is 62:21 and that's what the timecard shows?
(I do have 5:15 HOL pay for trip starting on the 1st)

Holy smokes! It's crazy how quick all the schedules came out this week and even into iCrew. Tomorrow must be the start of Christmas break in CR haha.
