Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2
#3571
I've read in various places that we expect to hire 200/mo for several months into 2024. Any idea what the talk is for how long that will continue? Of course it won't happen forever but one particular rumor suggest a total stop to hiring later/late in the year for some period of time.
If someone has different info to share, please do.

No one really knows for sure. We were told last year that by this time in 2023, the company was going to taper off hiring to ~100 a month, which obviously didn’t happen. It seems they keep pushing that goal right as demand has yet to subside.

trip rigs
I can't count on two hands the number of times I've been waiting for an arrival gate and someone in the cockpit will comment about how many dollars their adding to their pay per minute. I give a slightly confused congratulatory "hmph" thinking 75% of trips are built from a trip rig with credit and aren't paying actual block. I don't think it's earning an extra penny, but I've heard it enough times now that I'm starting to think maybe I've been wrong for years. No need to quote me the rigs, I have 'em down. But, Am I Crazy or are they?

but the rotation updates with actual times as they occur, so check it a few minutes after acars sends the block in message and see.

Exactly. Except, of course, if you are waiting for a gate on the last leg of a rotation in which the ttl pay for the rotation is based off trip rig. In that case (and worst case scenario) your ttl time for the rotation will increase 1 minute for every 3.5 minutes that you wait for a gate until you eat up all of your trip rig credit and then it would become a 1:1 while waiting.
