Handing out the plane cards is not my job. My job is to safely bring my passengers and crew from point A to point B. Nothing more. I've never had an adult ask me for a card, only the kids (and that is rare too). I rarely carry them anymore, same as wings. Again - not my job. Tour of the cockpit, sitting in the left seat with the hat on for a picture for kid(s) for mom/dad - yeah I'll do that all day long. Not really caring about the cards or wings. Not my job.
You probably write out cards too don't you?

You really think anybody is standing at the cockpit door handing out cards to every single passenger deplaning? This is about somebody getting upset that only a select few people are asking for trading cards. Glad to know if someone ever asks you for a trading card, you’re gonna tell them that’s not your job and continue to scroll on your phone or whatever else it is you’re doing up there

To mitigate all threats I keep the cockpit door mostly closed during the boarding and de-planing process.

CBreezy,
Can you explain your reason's for refusing to say goodby at the door because, "It's not my job , I am disrespected by management, I will hurt their NPS to show my dismay"
and....
"I hand out cards, it's all about the customer and NPS, good goes around"?
Just seems like there isn't a logical nexus between your actions. Seems as if you shoud do both ....OR... neither. Might as well include the hat in the civil disobedience in an attempt to achieve your ends.

Buck, maybe he's talking about the kids when it comes to wings & cards?? I think most of us, even anti-card/wing curmudgeons like myself, will always tend to drop what we are doing to accomodate the kids. I'm sure many of us as kids flying an airliner - and where interested in that sort of thing - fondly remember meeting the pilot(s) in the flightdeck and getting a chance to sit in one of the control seats. I certainly remember mine (TWA Captain named Mark - never forgot it). I think we all bend our hardened positions when it comes to eager faces that are curious and excited. Management shenanigans not withstanding of course.

If a kid wants to visit the flight deck, that's a different story. That kid is not an influencer with an ulterior motive. The kid is just a kid.

No one is putting a phone in your face so close that you have to push it out. No one is going to post a respectful interaction on tiktok. Even if the cards aren't a thing, that individual would still be filming and there is literally nothing you can do to prevent it. Might as well learn to be boring.
