A pilot can choose to acknowledge the reroute but you can also say that you are not able to respond to any company contact during critical phases of flight. Once a reserve blocks in on the last leg with no further expectation to fly scheduling cannot use the pre-release schedule check to assign tag on flying. That schedule check is only to determine an immediate rest assignment, or a trip or SC assignment reporting at least 18 hours after the release from the current trip.
As a reserve, That tag on flying is not indefinite though. You can only be extended one duty day beyond your original release, regardless of how many days you are still on call.

yes. Agree. At least 1 run preferably 2 pcs runs. I view this ‘lockout’ as another concession in our non-concessionary contract.

While I also would have liked them to have required them to be run through coverage, there is no way it can be considered a concession.

‘no way’? Says who…..you?

I’ve heard that some pilots were able to successfully change their schedule 0-2 days prior to sign-in by picking up or swapping with a 0xxx series trip that otherwise would go to a reserve pilot. Those 0xxx series trips were occasionally more desirable for the pilot than his originally assigned rotation.

You can still swap, process is different, and you have to watch earlier, but it’s still able to be done.

The only thing that has changed is that the process happens 2 days prior rather than 1. Before, you could never swap broken trips that eventually went out as GS. Now, you at least have a shot. Worst case scenario, it's status quo which, by definition, is not a concession

I see nothing wrong with it. Actually, a bonus that he’s on campus. Thought for sure it would be just the announcement and then you’d never hear again about TB and Delta
