Oh, sorry. When you said "ABSOLUTELY NO" you were using a different dictionary to define what "absolutely" means?
Cool, we just make up words where the meaning is opaque.
This is not nit-picking some typo....it is tough to discuss ideas and concepts when you have your own dictionary.

I’d do it. I wouldn’t speak for Oofff, and he doesn’t speak for me. I’m a commuter and am often sitting SC at the airport. The problem would lie in the fact that, at least in my base but I’m guessing system wide, most pilots who purposely bid reserve are locals. But if it was voluntary and incentivized, I’d be ok with it and would indeed call scheduling and tell them that I’m at the airport and available for a short notice assignment. Most often it would probable be one leg out to a layover and back to a hub where the original crew would be waiting to take over their trip again. Depending on the participation level, it would probably go a long way towards reducing reroutes for other crews.

I want nothing to do with airport reserve. In my category the reroutes are more because of a lack of reserves in total, not a lack of ones close by. So we gain little to no reroute gains but the company is really going to want to be able to mandate it. Not even a discussion.

You sure about that? PWA says "must be able to promptly report". There's a caveat IF you ADVISE skeds when notified for short call that you will be unavailable for a 2hr window at the beginning of the short call period, after which the "promptly report" applies for the rest of the short call. The 2hr window isn't automatic, and only applies to the first 2hrs. If you don't call and tell them, you can have a report time anytime in the short call period.
Edit: In practice, just because they award you a rotation with a quick or immediate report time doesn't mean they expect you to be there immediately. They are reasonable and just want you to be there as soon as you can, accepting a late departure is likely, within reason (~2hrs is my understanding as within reason). But you can't just turn down the assignment.

not turn down, but I do not have to accept 1 hour to report if I am called on SC. My point was that just because they call you for something 1 hour from now does not mean you have to be there in that timeframe
