Your usual lame condescending hyperbole, and that says a lot coming from me.
Nobody likes a carpet dance. Even at 5:15 pay. And we all know that once you get on the radar at this company, they tend to "find" other things you did that they don't like. We also know that if push comes to shove, the FAs are going to win every time, because the company will give them anything to keep AFA off the property.
All I'm saying is why not ask the union to discuss a clear policy with the company so we don't have to take matters into our own hands. But by all means, post how you think that's dumb and we should all just go rogue.

can you even show a time that a pilot “lost” when “push came to shove?” Or are you just making this up?
it’s not about “going rogue.” I check lots of things before the flight. Briefing and verifying meals will be included in that. I remain I afraid of interacting with my coworkers in the back on the matter.

You're not going to get written up for checking if your contractually provided crew meal is boarded and available to you when you want it.
I am curious to see how they handle the catering though.. especially on flights where there isn't a first class meal served.

That's their problem, not ours. The language was written so that if we're at a place that doesn't have early morning catering, we get it at the next stop - which is almost certainly a hub.

This is what works for me:
At the END of the briefing, if I know we’re supposed to get crew meals, I say, “hey, me and the copilot hadn’t eaten this morning/all day/etc. we see we’re supposed to get crew meals on this flight. Can you check and make sure they’re loaded? When you’re done with service, can we do a break/pass them up/etc.”
Say it with a smile, set the tone, make them aware, say it last (law of recency). 60% of the time it works every time.

But that's the point. It is your problem. It's all of our problem. Why should we have to create conflict with an employee group that's primed to write us up, just to exercise a contractural benefit?
That's why we have a union. So as not to have to represent ourselves every day and personally fight everyone all the time.

Im pretty sure there is already a policy in place that directs FAs to provide the meals as they always have. Are you having problems getting meals from the FAs on flights that currently have a contractual meal?
