Pretty sure this system saved my sorry ar** in Yuma a couple of decades ago.

Not all heroes wear capes. His Presidential Medal of Freedom was well earned.
Well said. A true unsung hero for the number of lives he saved.

Default APD IVD Question

I am planning on dropping a trip in July and just want to make sure I understand the logic correctly. I believe that I can place my drop on the beginning or end of a trip as long as the days are contiguous and then the whole trip will drop. Then I can pickup on any days not directly touched by the APD or IVD. Does that sound correct?

I also already used 3 IVD days in June and am showing 1 remaining day available but I believe this will be bumped up to 3 (6 total) for the July bid period.

This is all from my SRH and new PWA research - just want to see if my understanding is correct.

Thanks Scoop

That’s how it works. If you used some IVDs this month they still show as available on June’s time card. If you look ahead at July’s time card, the IVDs will be updated there.

I keep trying to use an IVD to drop a trip that goes from June 30 to July 2 and it keeps getting denied for CAPPED RESERVE DAYS. None of the days in the June period are even close to 25% coverage. So, what gives?

Holiday blackout. 2 days prior or 1 day after.

Yes, you have to do it that way, you can't repost Parental Leave. I hear the time for approval is down to less than a week.

If you notify them before the bid closes they prepost. Happened to me so I had to take an L. 56 hrs preposted when I bid for 60ish hours in trips in a 14 day period.

I highly recommend lineholder folks wait til bid results drop then request parental leave

Definitely; might as well see if the bid turned out as planned and you just do a 'go-around' and try again next month if not.

But, it's a much better deal to bid reserve in a parental leave month though, in my opinion.

String ~17 days in a row, drop the middle 14. Green slip freely on the time off after and bank the days.
