Go read 12 S. The answer lies within.

The sit time has to be scheduled. Eg. how the rotation was constructed or the scheduled times when you received a reroute.

if you have a 1 hour turn and the second flight delays 3 hours, turning it into a 4 hour sit, you are not due sit pay.

Can a pilot pickup a spillover trip from swap board if transitioning from line holder to a reserve line month now that the schedules have been released? Thanks

I'm assuming it's possible, but just beware that any block/trip credit in the reserve month goes towards your reserve guarantee, not on top. So unless your trying to fill up for the month you'll basically be working for free on your days off.

I realize that part, but if I had all "on cal" days the first few days of the month anyway, you think the pickup from the swap board would go through? I don't want to make those days available unless I'm relatively sure I can get what I want.

I think you're a bit naive if you think legal approval from the ALPA lawyers is the end-be-all of legal advice and other lawyers can't find their way around it if they think the payout is high enough.

Imagine this situation - took me all of 1 minute to come up with it.. and I'm not even a lawyer:

Delta brings on EDV pilots to the company, adds them to the bottom of the list (a staple) as per the "agreement" that DAL ALPA and EDV ALPA agree to.

The senior pilots complain, and say "we didn't agree to this!" and get a law firm to sue for "Right to fair representation" because there should of been a merged seniority list, and ALPA is ignoring the 2007 law that requires using Allegany-Mohawk which specifies: "insofar as the merger affects the seniority rights of the carriers’ employees, provisions shall be made for the integration of seniority lists in a fair and equitable manner, including, where applicable, agreement through collective bargaining between the carriers and representatives of the employees affected."They also want DOH, as they have been part of Delta for years, making all of them senior enough to hold Captain on the next AE.

Discussions ensue...

An agreement is made, rather than it going to arbitration where the EDV pilots are ratioed in, starting at earliest EDV flow and eventually will hold their original EDV seniority, just not right away. Over time they can bid a certain number of Captain slots on AEs. ALPA says, "well, it's better than DOH, which is what they wanted, and they might of gotten had it gone to arbitration."

Not possible? I'd say it has a medium to high chance of actually happening if Delta does that.
An arbitrated SLI would be ratio, which puts endeavor at the bottom of the list as well. If 9E pilots sued, it would be a colossal waste of their own money.

Well to update after moving my on call days to cover the PSB would not allow me to pick up the trip. Gives bogus 30/168 rest violation. Call skeds and they say effectively “yeah should be able to go through without PWA or FAR violation but we can’t overrule any pcs buffers (even though they agree it makes no sense). They suggest just to grieve it. Nice support we get from skeds.

You sure none of the buffers in Sched Alert 19-03 came into play?

Yeah, I looked through that, but it's one 7 day trip with no flying a week before on my sched and three x days that would follow in reserve month. The swap says denied for 30/168 rest (pilot swap) but the trip is 140hr TAFB and there is no duty before or after on my schedule.
