Thanks!
you’re young enough to (eventually) get very senior. No, you won’t be a WB captain in 12 years, but you can still have a fine career here. Likely LA captain on a narrowbody in a few years (the current situation will not be permanent). Commuting for life is a hard pill to swallow, especially since you’re likely to be gone more days for less money here than at SWA.

Find your bliss, nobody here can tell you what’s right.

Leave. 33 years is a long time.

Do what feels right, and in order to get away from the hum drum leave if offered. I know there is no right answer to but getting a temperature check I feel is important. Lubbock overnights are as fabulous as they sound let me assure you.

You have to make the right decision for you and your family. And you will get varying opinions here…

But, having been both a commuter and lived in base, the value of driving to work simply cannot be overstated. The stress of getting both to and from work, booking a Jumpseat, dealing with a new plan as weather, or reroutes hit it’s not worth it to me. And that’s before even talking about the time lost commuting. Good luck with your decision.

I think it’s been said before but you can make a free account at widgetseniority.com to see where you’d fall seniority wise at delta. While seniority progression would be better at AA and UA, you’d eventually end up in roughly the same place. It all comes down to what you want out of a career, and Delta will allow you to fly something other than a 737.

I was at SWA last summer for a month then came here. Very happy with my decision and have no regrets, even though I’ll be commuting vs. in base at SWA.

No doubt… some people “stress” about things that are out of their control. If you are a “stresser” then even a short commute will do you in. If your more of fly my sked, not chase every last $$$, enjoy your job and overnights and let the chips fall as they may for the commute, well there is an opportunity for you.

Default IVD usage?

Does anyone know if there is a way in icrew to tell if you’ve used your IVDs yet or just look back through each month schedule. And are they two per vacation year, calendar year, or DOH anniversary year?

TIA

Look back through on micrew. Probably easier than calling Skeds.

edit - IVD shows up on micrew as light blue to help you search faster
