Trip, I actually agreed with most of your post; just cutting it for one point.
If you're excited about potential future plans, I'd look at United. They're adding a ton of airplanes for growth + the possibility of flying supersonic (although I think they'll only have 69 seats on it and thus Scope it to Mesa...) and frankly, opportunity to make big money younger in the career. 2 year widebody FO is a very realistic possibility there; at DL it's not as likely.
But your point about the fact that Delta has a robust domestic network is absolutely true. And it does rake in the cash. Pre-Covid of course. Let's see what shakes out for the rest of 2022.

Delta loss $784 millions
United 1.4 Billions
AA 1.6 Billions
Numbers speak for themselves. UAL CEO is just big talking, he was the same way at AA “we are going to do great things together”, meh…I’ve saw this movie for 3 straight years while was employed in a AA wholly owned.
Delta is also adding a ton of planes, 155 A-321Neos, 25 737-900, I don’t know how many more 220s (last time I checked 70ish), the 330-900 Neos and 350s that are still not delivered.

From one, single, oddball AE.
It may continue, but it is waaaay too early to be throwing out blanket statements as if that’s the new normal. Then again, as International returns (as May’s bid packet shows), it may prove to be an anomaly from one AE ever.

We can fix this! Just switch to United’s or American’s reserve system and almost every bid will have new hires going to wide bodies. Contact your reps!
