What plane are you on? On narrowbodies if CS doesn't release you the evening prior, the LCA will release you but maybe not until report time unfortunately. I'm not sure about WB stuff.

You can always just call CS and ask. I did that last month around 3pm the day prior. They said sure no problem, put a gs in if you want one.

I've met one LCA who refused to release a pilot until both FO's were at the gate. I was local and it was bad enough, but I'd be livid if i had had to commute in just for this guy to prove a point.

For some reason I thought you were on the 330? If so, you may very well not get released, I never did. They just took both of us FO's, blocked off 1A and we just spent a lot of time on break. Not a bad gig, but not nearly as good as getting released.

On the 330/350, no. You work it with 2 x RFO if it’s TOE (which is 99% of the time). Unless it’s a domestic OE leg, then you may be released. Usually the LCA lets CS know you’re released and then I call them to get released.

I think this comes from their boss, the lead LCA. They are told not to release FO's and to let scheduling do it (which probably comes from Ed) .If you read 23G in the PWA it doesn't mention scheduling but says the LCA is the one who can release FO's.

Also, if it's TOE everyone has to sign-in.
