Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2

If I’m below the GS trigger, why does my time card show G/SLIP PAY? I flew a GS earlier this month while below the trigger, it all went on my time card as GSCREDIT. But now about 1/3 of that GS shows up as GSLIP PAY and the other 2/3 as GSCREDIT.
Anyone have a clue? Still approx 20 hours below GS trigger.

to tag on to this... You can use any amount of time from your vacation bank and get pay and credit if it is to cover trips dropped pursuant to a PD, QPD, IVD, or APD. PWA 23.I.18.

For example, assume a trigger of 70 hours. If you are at 60 hours of credit and fly a 20 hour GS, 10 hours will count towards the trigger and 10 hours will be double pay no credit and you will get a total of 90 hours. If you take 5 out of the bank, 5 of the GS will count towards the trigger and 15 will be double pay no credit for a total of 100 hours.

Just to be clear. If you are below the trigger, a GS will be single pay and credit until you reach the trigger, and double pay no credit once you reach the trigger. And as gunfighter said you can take 5 hours out of the bank to count towards the trigger.

Pay & Ctedit
While we are on the topic I have always been a little confused between pay and credit and I haven't been able to read a good definition of credit in the PWA or Scheduling Reference Handbook, would someone mind clarifying it?
Pay is obvious. It's what you get paid for a trip the highest of your actual block time, your average daily guarantee or the trip rig (1 for 3.5 TAFB) or duty rig (1 for 2 FDP).
Credit I've always understood it to be the amount of time that applies to PWA sections such as reserve guarantee and green slip triggers etc. However I'm not sure I understand the difference between credit shown on the rotation and credit applied to the PWA sections. Also I know that on a carry out paring credit is paid in the following month. I'm not sure I understand the differences between the types of credit. Can someone explain the different types of credit and the difference between pay and credit more clearly?
I'm kind of embarrassed that I don't have a good understanding of something so critical to our pwa.

A couple of credit items/what it's used for:
-Within a trip/pairing, credit is anything above block (this is where your rigs and DH pay is indicated)(This is what the sodomizer is minimizing. According to the company, credit is bad, bad, bad. Paying pilots when they aren't operating/creating revenue)
-For the current month: Credit is used to determine your individual pickup limit. (ALV+15). It's also used to determine pay-treatment for GS (must meet GS trigger)
-For PBS: used to determine what a pairing is worth for line construction. You'll see 'in-period credit' when you have a carry-out trip. Your line must fit within the 'line credit window' which I believe is pretty well covered in the SRH/PBS references.
-Also for PBS: Vacation and training events all have associated credit values. PBS uses these values during the line construction process. (highly recommend John Bell's Reserve Calculator on the PBS page of DLnet and linked from the PBS webapp.)

I've always found this kind of amusing. The behavior of the company seems to indicate that it's a cardinal sin to make pairings with 13% credit when they can make them with 8%. But when things inevitably break, it's nbd to pay a pilot twice their normal rate to operate those flights.

Someone is SO addicted to the optimizer that they refuse to look at the post-month cost. Not our problem.
