Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2

Reduced Lower Limit, I think? It’s basically an expectation of how many lines there will be. Subtract the RLL from the number in your category, and the result is the number of expected reserve lines.

RLL is how many lines they expect to award in the category. Then you get the total number of bidders from the info page in PBS. The dofference is how many reserves there will be.
RLL is actually there to ensure someone senior to that number and thus deserves a regular line actually gets one even if PBS can’t build one. That pilot actually has to have an RLL bid in though. The SRH and the PBS pubs are very good on the subject.
Referencing the earlier rabbit hole of YSing Short Call Only if Needed…ALL the time. I don’t want to be on short call, but if they plan to use me for it I sure as hell am going to tell them what time window I want. If you’re a commuter it’s a total chump move not to.

To add to all the “yes, use it” replies, the company is contractually obligated to honor it. Period. And no, it absolutely does not increase your chances of getting used.
I once had a scheduler tell me they don’t have to look at them, that if I “wanted that trip, you should have yellow slipped it.” I had the PWA, SRH, and Scheduling Alert references handy, relayed those to them and asked for a supervisor. I never actually talked to the supervisor, as when the CSer told me she had, that the supervisor (wrongly) confirmed I was wrong, and to talk to the CPO. So I did, and got it fixed, submitted an FCR, and got a reply that I was 100% correct and included an apology from Crew Scheduling
Knowing the PWA/SRH/Sched Alert references is critical to getting a timely correction. Be professional, there are still a lot of green CSers.

Had a similar situation where trip I wanted went to a junior pilot and I got stuck flying trip I didn’t want. Scheduler told me they “don’t use it like that” as the trip I wanted was given out before they got to needing me.
I got a name time stamp and just submitted it to ACE. Waiting for them to get to it.
Last couple times I needed any support from CPO I got none, so didn’t see any reason to bother barking up that tree.

Yes. Yes. No. The junior pilot was assigned the trip I wanted six(6) minutes before I was assigned to another trip.

However, if what is bolded is accurate, that may be contractually complaint. If you were not needed when they covered open time trips, it does not trigger the “if needed” slip. The Trip Coverge report will tell the tale.
It bears repeating, that having the PWA, SRH, and Sched Alert 19-02 available to quote will get you what you are due, especially if you have to involve a supervisor/CPO. It’s not optional.

I can only offer that this exact thing happened to me. I called and said I’m senior to the other guy, I should have gotten it. They made me wait about 2 minutes, then changed it. Maybe green schedulers? Maybe the other pilot already acknowledged the trip?

Hard to know with what’s provided, but the ALPA Scheds folks will dope it out.

The junior pilot was assigned six minutes earlier than me, but both trips were open at the time the junior was assigned. I have screenshots depicting both in the ACE report.
They are working May 16 now and this happened in early June, so will be a while before it’s sorted by the ALPA folks.
