Its not the senior ones you have to worry about. It’s the ones who have been here almost three years and have NEVER done the commute the old school way. They have very little invested at this point.

Someone here 3 years and they have very little invested? We won’t lose a single pilot who has been here more than a year to a change in PS. Keep in mind we still have a contractual PS benefit that is permanent.

Well, as a non-Delta, commuting pilot, I sure am rooting for you all to keep your positive space to free up those jumpseats.

Leaving a base to become a commuter is an expensive proposition. I laughed at the idea of a mass exodus to become commuters because of positive space. Over a decade I could see a gradual trend toward a higher percentage of commuters, but not a sudden shift. The biggest initial difference will be commuters who upgrade to categories where PS lets them commute same day.

Don’t get too excited. They still book up fast with GS, YS and reserve guys.

Well thats nice to know, but a couple of of holes. 1: That only works getting to work, not getting home, 2: Its sounds like at company convenience, not in PWA. 3: Hold times make that a PITA.

If PS Commuting stays then we better get some sort of annual positive space vacation passes codified. Non-rev was bad enough before and now it’s terrible.

I'd be willing to trade all buddy passes for vacation passes.

I suspect the company makes a nice profit on buddy passes. They probably would want something in exchange for eliminating them!
