Positive Space ?

If they make POS permanent, there will be a massive drain in ATL as everyone moves to coastal or mountainous tax-free havens. Why put up with the congestion, ATL airport parking, going through what looks like a super-max on your way to work and crazy taxes on everything.

Wanna bet? The company has come to the realization they actually want PS Commuting. Sick usage is down a substantial percentage, and we all know how the company has a burr under thier saddle over sick. Just wait, it will happen. At a minimum 'to work", but I predict both directions. There will likely be a few constraints, however, on arrival time. I doubt they will insist on a backup flight, but they might require 30 minutes before report or similar.

Better hope they know how to do that. The way we underpay schedulers and accept turnover, I’m not sure this summer’s schedulers have even been hired and trained yet.

Lol, I hear you. But in the end, it's mutually beneficial. Win-Win, and we should take it and RUN. I say this as a non(but former)commuter, btw. So it doesn't directly benefit me.
I do think we may see some change in AE bidding behavior, btw. It might just balance out some of the ATL-DTW-NYC staffing some. TBD.

If positive space stays, wont be contractual, and will be:
1) Only getting to work,
2) Only from one airport within a set distance of pilot's home of record,
3) Pilot must take the jumpseat if other revenue or non-rev passengers need a seat,
4) Backup is required, and,
Pilots have 48 to use per year (4 per month) and this replaces all other non-rev privileges, OR
5) Non-commuting pilots get 48 positive space vouchers to use per year for anyone on their non-rev list.
My two cents.
