It could be implemented as a supplement to block hour pay or a replacement for block hour pay. I'll stay away from rate and costing proposals and stick to math problems I have a chance at solving like inflation and tax rates.
I am agnostic on what the numbers should be to resolve the issues, but I think the root issue is there is no incentive for the company to not abuse pilots with wasted time as a freebee way of keeping us at work to use whenever, etc.

Requiring hotels for anything scheduled/ and or actual more than a 4 hr sit helps with that. Your not contactable.

Then watch them schedule 3:59 before your last leg of the day or your go home leg. Congrats, they have you available for reroute nonsense for an additional three hours at no cost to the company.

That’s why I mentioned actual as well.

Sit pay for that Kicks in above 2 hours and goes to 1 hour for a 4 hour sit. I believe AAL has something like this.

Yeah I’m kind of surprised you have no language for this? Is that correct?

Not trying to poke you in the eye, but the problem with just reducing ground time until you get a hotel means all of the onus is on you: get in early enough to have the requisite time for hotel, make the call for crew accommodations, go catch the van, check in, then enjoy the limited time before you go back to the airport. Now, how many pilots will forgo the multi-step hassle and let the company off? Add a sit pay to the formula that pays out EVERY time it hits the schedule, with no greater effort on your part, and now you have a real incentive for the company to avoid legal, but bad behavior.

Edit: Scoop or someone else can explain the type of rule that would provide the default incentives to reduce gratuitous abuse.

MBCBP is DOA. Overwhelming majority of pilots don't want it. Post 2014 hires now make up the majority of the pilot group.

No doubt credit for sit is better. The hotel does provide incentive to not build long sits. That’s it’s purpose. It also makes it difficult to reassign where the credit does not. Don’t worry you didn’t hurt my feelings. Lol.

do you mean the optional market cash account, or are you referring to the minimum balance? Two separate items that many people conflate as one. Min balance is doa. Mbcbp is not. (Please reference MEC chairman’s letter Dec 21, 2021 for mbcbp info).
