Contract 2022

Unfortunately I think you’re correct.
During the RA days people used to say the company was paying chess and ALPA was playing checkers.
Now I fear that ALPA is playing checkers but the company is playing Tic-Tac-Toe and they’re too busy eating all the crayons.
Everything since late 2018 has seemed woefully shortsighted and execution has been with minimal to no planning. I remember pre-COVID that the ALPA NC was pretty much spending time teaching the contract to the company negotiators instead of actually negotiating. Such a shame.

I agree we’re hosed. I disagree that the company is taking any chances. Instead, they are simply oblivious to their incompetence and honestly will have no idea how to dig themselves out of this hole once they eventually recognize we’re in it.

I think they dig it when it’s convenient. However, I don’t think they would choose to prioritize it over profitability and they’re only now realizing that having taken our eye off the airline-running ball, we’re about to self-distruct.

Now we have snapped back to reality, and Ed is slow to react. If he would’ve reacted this way at the beginning of Covid, and actually analyzed info/explored options… we wouldn’t be where we are right now. We would’ve all been getting our pay in category via PSP with a few 737s and Airbii doing some light work during the peak of Covid.
This group of pilots I think is beginning to wake up as well. About all we can do is take care of each other at this job right now, because the company is struggling to even keep track of crews and airplanes… let alone the rest of this nonsense.

During the good times when we were seeing Big Profit sharing checks a good chunk of that $$ came from our code-sharing arrangements. For me I don’t have a problem with CS as I haven’t, and won’t ever fly int’l. Just don’t care to. If I can make a chunk off some other pilot sitting on a jet for 16 hours I’m good with it.
I certainly recognize I’m in a minority with this opinion.
DAL management likes their formula for the division of labor, don’t see it changing.

Lol idk what other forums you have seen me on i haven't posted a thing out side of APC in months. Threads yes, I feel our contract is severely lacking in every area and I feel we are severely under compensated. So surly you can't be serious.. BR I found you to be some what reliable but maybe you're just another company shrill that wants to toe the company line that were the highest compensated pilots in the industry (lie)...
