Cel service providers. How’s your coverage?

I have had them all. I just cancelled T-mobile and went back to AT&T as it provides better coverage in the Caribbean islands. I also had T-Mobile tell me I could not expect my phone to work in large airports at peak hours after I complained about service. Two weeks ago I rode with my son on a trip. He has T-Mobile. He had better 5G service in our home town but once we were in a rural area I had better 5G. At our destination he had no service and I had 2bars and LTE. I suspect everyone’s experience varies with the locations.

Its like wiring your house with audio spyware 24/7/365 just to occasionally ask what temperature it is or some other banal question you could find out in 5 seconds anyway.

You're stretching the truth. They didn't say it won't work, but you can expect the service to slow down in crowded areas. This happens at all carriers, and personally had this happen only once as far as I could tell back in 2018. Never had an issue since then. The rest of your post makes sense.

Endeavor pilot here - sorry to be crashing a Delta thread, but I have I think a unique perspective on AT&T vs T-Mobile. Our company iPads use T mobile while I have AT&T on my phone. AT&T has superior coverage. Over and over throughout small outstations, especially in the south out of ATL, my iPad won’t load anything while my phone will. And I know it’s not just an iPad issue because fellow crew will ask how I’m able to load radar on my phone, and I’ll ask what they use and sure enough they have T mobile. Visiting family in rural Indiana, I have service, but my grandma with T mobile can’t load a thing, though I have noticed service improving for her in certain areas closer to small Indiana cities.

Company would greenlight this immediately if they could know with 100% assurance pilots wouldn't use it while manning the flight deck, change my mind.
(Looking at you, you T-Mobile texting addicts. You know who you are (the "1%"). Jeebus Xist. Would it kill you not to look at your phone every 5 minutes? You do realize all of this is trackable?)

Years ago I had Sprint. I was flying for NetJets and we went to a lot of small airports out in the boondocks. Sprint was fine in CLT where I live but didn't do that well on the road. Since I had a company phone with AT&T I opted for Verizon and it did a lot better in the small towns. After I stopped flying I saw a "Seniors" plan at T-Mobile where we get 2 phones and unlimited data for a flat $70/month (with autopay). We haven't had any issues with T-Mobile.
