What does that mean, an “A award?”

Hypothetically speaking, If a relatively new hire were to pursue an A award on a future AE but hadn’t yet reached the prescribed 1000 (500 for mil) hours, how would that pan out? Not awarded until getting hours? Not converted until getting hours?

22.E.8.a.

Basically your training/conversion is delayed until you get close enough to the min required hours that OE will take you over the top. No pay protection.

Can anyone shed light on training footprint for going through upgrade on a previously qualified airplane? Let’s say 2 years since you’ve last flown that type.

If you’ve flown something else in the meantime, it’s a full course.

If you are coming back from a LOA/disability (and this have flown nothing else), there is a short requal if less than 36 months out.

Anyone under 3 years at delta also has to do a full course for upgrade. Also 47 hours of OE which puts you very close to special tracking at 50 hours of OE. Special tracking isn’t the end of the world but it’s something to know about.
