Being a former narrow body captain and not having enough seniority as a wide body FO to avoid cold destinations year-round is a fail in so many regards.

Just checked and well I'll be damned it's true. Retires in 2059. Will be in command of a Widebody across the Atlantic in their 20s. Possibly on a Greenslip if they live local. What an amazing opportunity.

Looking at the Captain awards there are several pilots who retire 2056+ with the youngest I've seen retiring in 2061, NYC73NA. We might be on the cusp of a 23 yr old Delta Captain on the Widebody AE. What a time to be an airline pilot

To do this, he had to violate policy to use the wifi inflight to adjust his schedule. He then proceeded to pick up a trip that prevented him from going home that day, He had to call his wife to tell her that he wasn't going to be home for a few more days to make X amount of money. Meanwhile, I did my reserve stint, went home, and never had to think about open time.
This. I live close enough to NYC that its a 45 minute flight and I can drive in a pinch if needed. I can sit long call at home and drive maybe 2 times a year when a 12 hour call comes 5 minutes after the last flight left.

But I don't live close enough to be a green slip ninja.

I don't plan anything on my reserve days and I forget about delta when I'm off.

The only GSs I've done have either been a DH to where I live or something that pops when I'm already in NYC commuting home.

Default MOAWBB

Alright what's next? Do we keep this thread or make a new one titled "MOAWBB" (mother of all wide-body bids)?

A350 predictions:

ATL - January 2017
DTW - June 2018
LAX - September 2017

Ship #16 is on property now
Ship #17 is doing test flights
The first of 7 LATAM leased birds headed to the paint shop last week

Bonus Prediction: NYC330B - July 2021

If there’s gonna be a MOAWBB thread, I wouldn’t personally put it in the Delta section of APC.
