I've had both good and bad experiences with their products and nothing but great customer service.

Even the much ballyhooed rah rah American jacket manufacturer started making them offshore to a (IMO) lesser quality.

In any case I can't wait to see what a "hat that's easier to travel with" means.

Default Shirt suggestions

Any slimmer guys have shirt recommendations they like? Got the ones from
Crew outfitters that we order during indoc. Got the appropriate neck size and got the “tapered” version which is supposed to be slimmer cut. The shirt is cut so boxy that it looks way to big for me. Showed up to observation jumpseats and I looked like I borrowed my dad’s shirt. It’s funny, but also kind of unprofessional looking. I’m not looking for something too skinny or soy latte hipster tight, just something I’m not swimming in.

I use the A Cut Above tropo. You can customize your taper on their website. I do a 1 inch reduction. I'm pretty skinny but have broad shoulders. Quality has gone down a bit lately for A Cut Above, but it's adequate.

Initially a bit pricey, but the quality and fit has been fantastic. I got mine at the beginning of this summer so can’t speak to the long term staying power but the shirts are standing up great so far. Best looking and most comfortable pilot shirt I’ve ever had.

Thank you both for the recommendations. I bought one from A Cut Above and will see how it fits. Gooner, did you get a custom shirt from your’s or did you get the “Delta” shirt?

A Cut Above IMO. Their tapered version or whatever they call it. FWIW all manufacturers I've used are radically sensitive to their corresponding neck sizes. I have a thicc neck and any non tapered shirts in that size fit like a parachute. Even some of the tapered ones can fit a bit large. You can always go down a half or whole neck size and just don't button the top and use the tie to conceal the unbuttoned top.

Check out &Collar and their “Flight” shirts. I bought a large slim flit, I’m 6’2 and 200 lbs and it fits really nice.

Definitely get the custom. The owner will reach out to confirm your airline as our wing and name tag are different measurements than others.

I agree with that, been using their shirts/pants for years and every few years it seems to feel a little less well constructed......But I still order from them.

I do the tropo too, 2'' reduction. I'm 5'11", 185'ish, and ill describe me as an athletic'ish dad-bod (true story), and it fits pretty well with no extra material everywhere......
