I'm not sure how. They took a row of buttons off the jacket, added a logo to the tie, and are allowing the ladies the option to wear a scarf (which, IMO, looks way better. I always thought it looked weird forcing women to wear men's business attire). It's not like they did a complete redesign of the uniform, eg the FA fiasco. The purple dress looks significantly better than the previous outfit, but now they have like 7 different options so that you don't even know what airline they work for. That's not what's happening here.

Can I still wear my 15 year old jacket, black tie, and my Haggar pants?

Agree with most of what you said. But given how cheap pilots are, I suspect the new "optional" blazer will just become the newest, fastest way to spot a newhire.

Absolutely. In that survey, my number one...uh, request? demand? I guess 'response' is probably most appropriate...was that if they decided to change anything, it either had to be free to order or we get a uniform stipend. Without that, I guess I and many others will continue to be sub commanders.

Lol right. Apparently some think you can have more than one thing on your mind at a time.

It's not all about cheapness, but rather some us are happy with the current jacket. If I needed a new jacket, I'd stick with the current option. Here's hoping they never make the single breasted jacket mandatory. Bummed they didn't make the hat optional.

Nowhere does it say the scarf is for females only.

Also, the tie looks nice, but I'm waaaaay to lazy to wear anything other than a zipper tie. So hopefully the new style comes with a zipper...
I'm all about the new scarf. This is going to be epic. Finally no tie.

I saw that video in the 90s. Things to look for while in the SIDA, apparently terrorists weren't smart. They wore mismatched uniforms, a dead give away. Or... maybe they were plotting decades before their time?
