Uniforms

Not needed. Plenty already talk about "on deck" during the initial descent PA.
Fwiw early airline uniforms and terminology came from the nautical world. Hell, pan am called their captains "masters of ocean going vessels" or some deity thing. Not that I'm in favor of it, but that's the uniform lineage. Same with the sheepskin seats. Back to when it lined the leather jackets of the guys flying the mail. Which northwest did....so I guess neither pre merger outfit was any less "old school."
I wonder if passengers even care. Remember the skybus safari looking uniforms?

I am old school guy and actually like our jacket. We really only have to wear it for 6 months..and even then if your going south to the warm climates you can ditch it.
As far as a dry cleaning allowance like United’s, that would be A win! I really think that would improve the overall look of the entire pilot group. I wear the required uniform pants when I have the jacket on, and get it dry cleaned frequently, but in the summer it’s kohl’s for me and the wash machine with an occasional dry cleaning to get some extra starch on the pants. If we got reimbursed, I would stick with the authorized pants and go all dry cleaning all the time. I think many would follow suit. I don’t really care about the hat much either way..but it does up our professional look in my opinion.
