Let’s face it.....the hat and horse blanket aren’t going anywhere. The only realistic thing I see coming is more “inclusive” options for women. And mayyyyyybe more “inclusive” options for fat guys like me......meaning a winter sweater with epaulet option, or softshell option (I doubt either will happen honestly).....

oh.....and beards and tatts, too.

The leather jackets the NWA guys had were pretty nice. No exterior patches, velcro, wings, or bling like some of the others you see. Just a couple of tabs the epaulettes went around. Pull them off and it was just a black jacket, suitable for wearing on a layover. Super warm in the winter with a zip out lining. Reasonably rain resistant, wiped clean with a damp cloth, and folded up made a tolerable pillow on the commute home. Not inexpensive, but came from a legit supplier (Gibson & Barns). Pretty much the pinnacle of utility in the frigid north. All told, a surprisingly reasonable call by the then-company. They even offered a buy-back after the merger happened. I kept mine because it's a darn nice jacket, and it just looks like a ho-hum leather jacket anyone would have.

False. A pilot at the grocery store or the mall without the hat is out of uniform!

Id gladly take the leather option. Plenty professional.

Comes in plain black. Good piece of gear, goes on sale periodically. Packs small and is light.

I’ll second that I have something similar from LL Bean stuffed in my bag, when it’s pouring out no one cares what you have on.

Na, were just the 1900's ship captain spin offs. But that does give me a good idea I think we should update our language for PA's to be inclusive of our nautical attire. Turbulence shall now be referred to as sea state, Thunder storms are now ice burgs, and one pilot must yell "land ho!" before landing.

I also hate this jacket. I don't think aviator sunglasses and a bomber jacket is the fix.
