Reserve for Dummies

Not sure if it’s written down anywhere so not quite positive on this but I believe they assign trips first and short calls later. Your trip YS would go through, but I believe even a trip that doesn’t match your yellow slip request would take priority over your SC YS. For example you can’t say “That horrendous 5 day trip in open time looks unpleasant, I’d like a short call instead please”.

Agree, this is a nice reserve rule improvement, which we got lots of. I may be bidding reserve more soon.

Ya, that is a nice option to have, especially if you can't GS/drop PB days to knock down the days on call. ...I mean, don't bid reserve at Delta, it's absolutely the worst!

Currently on SC that started at 1000. They put a trip on my schedule last night at 2000 that reports at 1400 in the SC window. I have not acknowledged that trip. They haven't called me about the trip once I started SC. They must contact me with a phone call on SC no matter what, correct? So if they never notify me I would not need to report for this trip?

Thanks, and just so I understand completely they can't base that 9 hours off my 1000 SC start right? They can't say well we put the trip in iCrew before 0100 so a call is not required. The 9 hours in this case is from the beginning of the on call day, which for me was at 0001 for LC. So anything assigned after 1500 the day before on the no-fly day would require a phone call no matter what.
