Absolutely. This is also a word of caution. If you put in a generic YS without time parameters, they can assign you any trip that starts on a reserve day. On the other side, if you have a "if needed" slip, they cannot violate PWA first day of reserve rules.

Is any other category besides mine being slammed with Short Call this week? I'm a perennial reserve bidder, but have never gotten four SC days in a month before, and I've been hit for four just this week. And they are moving up lots of reserves to short call status in my category. I'm by no means the only one.

Today/Tomorrow, insane amounts of dudes on SC (at the same time) for no reason. I've seen CS go to "lets push SC to a level above what we usually have" but it's been nuts since Thanksgiving
But don't worry, we are cutting back flying, from 7 to 1 RJs a day to base. It will all work out. /sarcasm

I've been on call for 6 days, 2 SC and a 27:16 4 day.

Would someone be kind enough to walk me through how I can post a trip to open time? I’ve already put in a leave request to drop it but wanted to increase my chances by also offering to be picked up on open time/swap board. When I go to icrew to post it it seems as though it requires me to input a trip to swap into rather what I want, which is to just put it up on open time and get the days dropped. I’d really appreciate the help. (First time line holder)

You want it to also show up as available for swap on the pilot to pilot swap board which is technically a different thing. The easiest way to do this is via MiCrew, where you simply swipe right on the rotation where it is listed below the calendar view of your schedule. One of the options is “post trip”, which is short for “post trip to the pilot to pilot swap board”, and what follows is pretty intuitive. You can post it for someone just to take from you (a drop), or a swap (you’ll trade it for something, which you can define), or a combination of both.

You don’t directly “put it in open time”. It shows up as a qualified (as in already covered, in this case by you) rotation after you unsuccessfully attempt to drop it via leave request. This happens after a PCS cycle, so it’s not immediate.

Also in the Icrew PCS menu is "leave requests"
Select "personal drop" button and make sure you have the correct bid period selected.
On the next screen, input the details of your trip you want to drop. When PCS runs next, if there is reserve coverage on all of those days, voila the trip will leave your Sked and move to open time.
