Gotta watch crew sched's a little bit, aside from this wonderful SC-fest, I was awarded a trip on reserve via yellow-slip, when I had YS'ed nothing. How does that even happen, getting awared a trip via YS when I definately did not have one in? Quick call to CS had it removed. It's work though, to go quality control all of CS'ing's work under the reserve-avail list in ICrew.

Its just one more way that "the man is trying to keep us down."

Update on the YS for shortcall I submitted to crew assist:

“PCS will not award any SCs in excess of 6 even with a YS and even with a junior pilot awarded one without a YS. Such SCs can be awarded, but only at the sole discretion of the scheduler.”

Whether that discretion is based on a coin toss, a dart throw, the phase of the moon, or the number of cookies donated was not specified.

For some categories they have been awarding them if you call and ask them to do it manually. Not mine. I am still waiting to hear back from anybody at ALPA as to if this is a violation and I am owed money for those SC's I wasn't awarded.

Pretty sure if you have the max SC’s for the month you’re the last to get one with a YS. Have you read 23.S.1.f.?

Have you read 23.S.1.f.1)? It says SC bid in PCS will be awarded.

I got assigned a highly desireable, high time, one day trip on long call 40 hours and 38 minutes out from report. It doesn't seem like this is legal. Surely it has to go into open time for some of that 40 hours? If it went into open time I know it would have been picked up with a white slip and I won't be flying it.

I'm on a single day of reserve with about 4 hours of LC after the trip returns (clearly not useable). Now that the trip is on my line can I still psot the trip for pickup? If someone picks up my trip will I still get a long call credit for that day i.e. my reserve guarantee is not reduced?

Cheers

You can not post a reserve assignment. If it's after the 0700 PCS, 2 day out, then it won't be awarded on a PCS for a WS, only a Swap. It's dumb, but that's how it works now. It can be sent as a proffer for a W if someone has a WS request that it would trigger.

Per 23M2 Second-day open time will be awarded/assigned each day during the period 0800 through 2400 but they don't really have to assign it until the "rotation becomes available with less than 4 scheduled PCS runs prior to its report time"

In my case there were 6pcs runs before report time. Surely they should allow it to run for at least 2 pcs runs in my case before assigning it to me? It seems like this should be something to change in the next contract. Open time is not being made available to those who want to pick it up meanwhile there is still ample time to assign it more than 18 hours out to a reserve.

I'm just grumpy because I had tagged on a single reserve day before recurrent to limit my availability. Then as usual when plans are made for my "paid day off" I get the call.

I get it, I too drop a single reserve day on either side of CQ and play the game, which doesn't always work lol. This is one of the downsides to our new 2nd day coverage. If they're letting Swaps process, they they should have to allow a PW to process as well. I also agree that if it's > 18 hours, it should be allowed to go through a PCS before being awarded. Let your reps know.
