Reserve for Dummies

The typical unused short call line is there, but aren’t there further incentives for additional short call periods beyond the max of 6? I’m up to 8 for the month (bid request). For each of the “additional” SC periods my credit has gone up by one hour. Once they’ve gone to SCC the typical 1:00 SCC line is showing up. Again, my apologies if I’ve misread the tiny section relating to additional short call periods, and thanks for the response.

Thanks, Fangs. I guess I’m curious as to how it should appear on the time card. The credit increase and the SCC pay are there, as is the annotation of the additional SC days in their column at the bottom. I’m assuming that since they are reflected in that column the ‘third hour’ of pay will be on the appropriate pay statement, as it isn’t reflected on the time card other than as a number in the added SC. One more thing to check next month. Again, thank you.

I’m still pretty stupid when it comes to iCrew. Is there a way to see who has been assigned which SC without scrolling through the reserve list and piecing it together?
Also, if I YS for a specific SC window that they had listed and the only SCs that they assigned were outside that window was that done appropriately? It seems the company listed every slot possible for SC but only assigned the 2359-0859 to every person. Which was the only slot I was trying to avoid…

I noticed they put all pilots on the 2359 SC in my category too. Seems like a TOTAL waste of resources - at least spread them out through the day. I would send a DART to ALPA about ignoring the PWA on the published SC Open Time. That can't be legal.

Someone from the 4th floor even posted that it's being done to reduce premium trips and PB days. I emailed my rep and am looking forward to hearing the response. Hopefully ALPA is already aware of it.
EDIT: it's even now announced in the latest weekly email so they're definitely not keeping secrets about it.

Not to mention that if you call me any time between midnight and 0500 I’m probably going to be worthless that day and end up calling out fatigued at some point.

Has anybody had success with getting a pre-rotation fatigue call "approved" where it doesn't come from your sick bank? Just curious, if I am fatigued I am gonna call fatigued regardless, but wasn't sure the success rate of them agreeing it was operational in nature if you just can't swing getting the 03:30 phone call.
