Reserve for Dummies
#1261
With the new reroute rules, if I am on reserve and scheduled for a deadhead leg on my equipment but my am subsequently changed to now fly that leg instead of deadhead, is that considered a reroute? And more importantly, am I entitled to reroute pay?

Pay Explained
Can someone explain a few things to me?
G/S trigger? This is only for REG right? And REG won’t receive double pay until their accumulated credit reaches the G/S trigger?
GS on reserve? If it’s on an X Day then you’ll reserve single pay no credit above guarantee (and a PB day)? If it’s on an on call day all you receive is credit towards your guarantee?
IA is always single pay above guarantee?
Is there any pay difference between a OOBGS and a GS?

Yes to all that. There is no difference in how a OOBGS and a GS pay, or give PB days. The only difference is the order they are offered (in base GS is before OOB) and the separate “counter” for each. Also IA is a separate “counter” from GS and OOBGS, and works exactly like a GS (with respective differences for Reg and Res), except there is no “trigger”.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Good stuff. Always learning.

if you’re very jr and on reserve, watch out for taking a gs too early in the month. The ‘payback’ may only be that you get a few extra days off in the same month. There may be no real expectation of a banked PB day and also a limited ability to get a subsequent gs to ‘roll’ the pb days since you’ll be last in line for gs #2,#3, etc.
Now if the pb days give you some mid-month days off that you really wanted off but couldn’t get on the initial bid, go for it!

Well, the trip shows closed now on the timecard and I get nothing. 10:30 toward guarantee and no PR(which is standard snafu. I usually just wait until done for the month and have them added as full days in my bank.)
And, honestly, I think this is correct using Fangs' logic from prior example about what time(domicile) the FDP started and leg blocked out. Block is paid on the calendar day the leg originates and trip credit is paid on the day the last duty period reports? In my case, the FDP reported on a RES day and the last leg blocked out on the RES day. It blocked in after 0130 domicile time and released after 0200 domicile time.
Example:
Pilot based in ABC assigned one day trip on Short call scheduled to release at 2330 on RES day.
Report time 1400 (on RES day)
DH ABC-XYZ 1600-1830 (2:30 Block)
Fly XYZ-XYZ 2100-2125 (0:25 Block)(Gate return due MX issue after two hour ground stop)
FLY XYZ-ABC 2225--0145 (3:20 block) (Massive reroute due weather/ATC added an hour to scheduled block time)
Release time 0215 (on X day)
All stations/times are in the same time zone.

Talked a scheduler into a PB day. I doubt any extra pay will result. With the number of ACE reports I've filed that either get someone else paid, or get sent to company yet I never see the pay I'm not bothering anymore.
