Yes. The last bullet point on page 49 of the SRH under green slip processing and notifications covers this.

§23.Q.6.c.Exception: covers it.

It'll be interesting to see how this is applied nowadays--note the actual language is "next day" (based presumably on the previous coverage sequence). So, unknown if you'd be able to do it *two* days out; but you're certainly good *one* day out. (I'd expect the company would be happy enough to allow it--they always want tomorrow's problem to be tomorrow's, while they fix today....)

Well, with reserve assignments now happening 2 days prior, this morning I find I've been assigned the evil 5 day in question. I've not yet acknowledged it as I'm currently on rest.

Does this mean i won't be eligible for any last minute green slips that come up between now and the start of the 5 day that overlap the 5 day?

Or can I still get a green slip on Friday and the payback day will drop the 5 day from my schedule?

I've a sneaky suspicion it's the former. If so this is one of the unintended consequences of the 18 hour callout. My ability to greenslip on my X days taking advantage of last minute green slips to use payback days to break up a long reserve grouping is now quite limited.

Are you in a category that allows you to move an X-day that would avoid the trip?

Possibly but I have other social events taking priority so while I could potentially move an x day I'm probably too close to the x day to move it and I don't really have a spot I want to move it to hence planning the green slip route.

We'll see how this plays out.

PD is another option but it will cost you a few hours of reserve guarantee.

I'm not sure how they will apply this. If I get a 1 day green slip the day prior to an awarded reserve rotation will the payback day drop the awarded rotation?
I'm assuming if I get a 2 day green slip the day prior to an awarded reserve rotation the reserve rotation will be dropped?

I just had this last week and they left my trip on my reserve days and gave me PB days on the next two available days.
